Chicago’s Race Against Gun Violence

Join CAPCA for a volunteer opportunity to run, walk, or sprint alongside others who share the vision of a community free from gun violence. Chicago’s Race Against Gun Violence takes place on Thursday June 4th at 6 pm in Grant Park with the goal to call concerned citizens to action and fundraise for non-profits that are leading the charge to end gun violence in our city.

Whether you choose to participate in the 8K, 5K, or the 2-Mile Walk, this event is more than just a race — it’s a powerful movement towards creating a safer community.  Every step you take and every dollar you raise will directly support grassroots efforts to combat gun violence in Chicago

Register for the race here and select whichever distance is right for you. When you register you will be prompted to set a fundraising goal and select a charity partner. If you aren’t sure which charity partner to select, Chicago Adventure Therapy which is recommended by CAPCA member Christine Meissner who is an active volunteer of that organization. You are welcome to make a small charitable donation (starting at $10) or go big with a social media campaign — whatever you feel comfortable with.

We plan to meet at a central spot before the race to connect, then everyone can participate at their own pace. Afterward, we’ll regroup for a photo and to celebrate together. We will announce details closer to the day of the event, if you plan to participate in the race.

Be sure to email [email protected] and [email protected] once you’ve registered for the race to confirm your participation so we can communicate directly with our CAPCA racers!
