Immediate Need for Volunteers
in Arusha, Tanzania

Vision Changer Organization (VCO), a community-focused non-profit organization based in Arusha, Tanzania, dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and communities. Founded in 2022, VCO works on initiatives related to education, community development, youth empowerment, and environmental conservation. Currently, VCO is working on a project at Emaoi Primary School, Arusha, which is facing significant infrastructure challenges. The school serves many children from low-income families, including orphans. At the moment, most of the classrooms are very old, in poor condition, and not sufficient for the large number of students.

On average, one classroom holds between 98 to 130 students, making the learning environment very difficult. During the rainy season and harsh weather, some classrooms leak, forcing children to study in unsafe conditions. This leads to high absenteeism, and in some cases, children lose motivation to continue their education. These challenges affect girls even more, as some are pushed into early marriages due to these difficult circumstances, cutting short their education and future opportunities.

At this time, VCO is in great need of construction and renovation volunteers who can support them in:

  • Renovating old classrooms
  • Building improved learning spaces
  • Painting and improving the school environment
  • Helping create safe and child-friendly spaces for learning

VCO offers top-notch modern and comfortable accommodations in their three large houses that can accommodate up to 50 people at once, providing an exceptional environment for volunteers coming to support children and the community. Each room is meticulously prepared with a private bathroom and toilet, ensuring you have the utmost comfort, safety, and privacy throughout your volunteering stay. VCO’s houses are equipped with reliable running water and electricity. Meals are carefully prepared by a skilled cook using fresh and high-quality ingredients, ensuring you receive nutritious and delicious food.

Arusha is not only the gateway to world-renowned destinations such as Mount Kilimanjaro and Serengeti National Park, but also a vibrant city with rich cultural heritage and meaningful community initiatives. Participants hosted here can gain hands-on experience while contributing to impactful development projects.
